On December 17, 2021 at 14:00 (GMT +3), an international webinar, with support from ROSATOM, on the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic on the energy sector decarbonisation “Is the COVID pandemic hampering the energy sector decarbonisation?” will be held.

Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Mr. Petr Bobylev, will take part in the webinar with a presentation on today’s key problems and challenges of energy decarbonisation in Russia and the world. The Director of Strategic Management Department, State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM, Mr. Igor Ermakov, will present the results of a study “Covid-19 pandemic’s impact on global nuclear power development”. Preliminary findings of a WEC monitoring tool «World Energy Transition Radar», active since September 22, 2020, will also be discussed. Moreover, the agenda includes statements from the President of the Centre for Energy Diplomacy and Geopolitics, professor at MGIMO University, Dr Stanislav Zhiznin, and CEO of Quantum Solutions Ltd (Bulgaria), Dr Stefan Vassilev.

The webinar will be moderated by WEC Russian National Committee Executive Director Dr Aleksey Gospodarev.
